This is a confidential Environmental Protection Agency draft document on the environmental impacts of the oil, gas and coal industries. It shows that federal authorities are concerned about public drinking water supplies in the region of the Marcellus Shale, an especially abundant natural gas reserve that stretches from Virgina up to the southern half of New York State. The document also suggests that the environmental impacts from the oil and gas industry are likely to grow in the coming year
